Great.Ly October Update

I have to admit, i've had a rather lovely October. I've watched two of my good friends get married, spent a week in the wonderful city of Hamburg, spent time with one of my best friends who was visiting from Australia and have written my very first article for a magazine!!

With the end of the month in a couple of days time, i wanted to share with you some more of my top picks from my boutique over at Great.Ly where i've noticed lots of new makers popping up recently so i  can't wait to see what comes next month!

With my love of a good pun, i couldn't not include these food for thought cards from Meesch Mosh - they are definitely a good thyme!
As soon as i saw these from Splendid Supply Co, i fell in love with them! I've been doing a lot of browsing for wedding ideas this month and the gold metallic hearts on these white bags would be perfect for wedding favors!

I'm also completely head of heels for this beautiful print from Jenni Haikonen!
Apparently last Friday was the official start of the Christmas shopping period with over 40% of people in the UK starting their shopping over the weekend (really!?)- so i couldn't not include these Scandi-inspired cards from the lovely Sam Osborne!

If you're just starting your Christmas shopping, i highly recommend checking out the beautifully illustrated calendars from Toodles Noodles, which you may have seen me feature on Twitter recently too. There's a range of options and the designs are just so lovely!!

Halloween Paper Crafts

I have a bit of a confession - i love Halloween!! I cannot wait to spend next Friday night carving a pumpkin, pretending i'm drinking blood from Dracula's goblet (gin & cranberry juice in a plastic wine glass from a pound shop) and watching scary movies. I also always completely miscalculate the amount of sweets required for the trick or treaters and end up week a month's worth of chocolate to "treat" myself to into November!

In preparation for Halloween, this year i've been looking for some simple craft tutorials that i can make my new home look a little less magnolia... I've found some really fun ideas that i thought you might like to try this week too - enjoy!

1. Contemporary stencil bunting from Lolly Jane

2. Beautifully spooky paper lanterns from Lia Griffith

3. Pumpkin paper mache from Hobbycraft

4. Decoupage apothecary jars from Fynes Designs

5. Wall of bats from Marvelous Mommy

If you've got any great tutorials for making our home a little more spooky next week, please share these too!

Office Crush #16

Whilst working away from home last week i spent my evenings (post-currywurst!) in the hotel room catching up on lots of my favourite blogs and as soon as i saw Claireabellemakes had invited her readers into a mini tour of her newly-finished craft studio i knew i had to share it with you!

Not only has Claire made me super envious with all of her pretty pastel accessories but she's also got a rather beautiful peg board too, which is now firmly at the top of my wishlist!
For a full studio tour and a complete list of sources too please do visit Claireabellemakes

AW14 at Rowen & Wren

Well it's certainly started to feel a little more like winter this week hasn't it? I can't believe how quickly the temperature has dropped and i find myself getting home from work and jumping straight into my PJs and dressing gown!

So it feels very fitting to share with you another AW14 collection and this time from the lovely Rowen & Wren...

I've been browsing Rowen & Wren a lot recently with the house move - they really do have some of the most beautiful homeware and incredibly inspiring photography so do visit their website if you haven't before. Their latest Christmas collection definitely does not disappoint!

Oh and i couldn't resist also showing you this rather wonderful gin making kit!! This has gone straight onto my Christmas list :)

Office Crush #15

Good morning!

Well after a week's break during the move, i'm very happy to back this Monday morning with another beautiful office crush for you to be inspired by!

I'm a huge fan of desk accessories and this office space from Home Oh My has something a little Kate-Spade-esque about it don't you think? Personally, i'm in love with all of the acrylic accessories and clashing prints with metallics!

Great.Ly September Update

Ah i'm so excited to be writing my first post from our new home!! YAY! It's been one crazy rollercoaster ride and it definitely felt at times that anything that could go wrong...did do! Everyone told me it'd be the most stressful thing i'll ever do, i didn't want to admit it but they were right. But i'm so happy that we finally moved in last weekend! Can finally get excited about decorating and buying lots of beautiful things i've had my eye on forever!
And it's October too - when did that happen!?

To see off September, i wanted to give you a round up of some of my top additions to my Great.Ly boutique last month - there were some great finds from some lovely new makers so do pop over and have a look!

For all my teacher friends who went back to work after the summer holidays, these creative inspirational quote cards from Crafting Connections are perfect for reminding yourself on a Monday morning just how wonderful you are!

On the subject on inspirational quotes - when you're writing out that to-do list, always nice to remind yourself how awesome you are right? I love this planner from Liora Saad

And finally, for all my lovely Twitter friends who tell me it's too early to be excited about Christmas - it's not when you get to add beautiful decorations like this from Sam Osborne to your boutique! :)
