Office Crush #6

Well what a beautiful weekend we've just had here in Leicestershire - isn't it just so nice to be able to spend so much time outside!? And i'm sure it's not just me, but there's something about the summer that really makes you feel like you're making the most of your time off.

Of course we all have to go back to work at some point (hello again Monday!) but just imagine if this week's office crush was your office space...

Well if you can't work outside on days like this, you might as well be able to look out at it all day and feel the breeze come through those amazing windows!!

This fabulous space in Jack London Square, California is currently home to the super cool Emma Robertson - a graphic designer/blogger at Emma Dime. If you love beautiful blog photography then i highly recommend checking out Emma's blog too whilst you're here too!

Office Crush #5

I'll be completely honest, i'm not too sure this week's office crush requires much more from me other than...WOW!
I just love all the pops of bright colour and the use of shelving to make it feel more professional yet accessorising it in such a personal way (i obviously love the K!)

I have enormous office envy after spying this on Pinterest yesterday via Small Rooms! I only have a small area of our apartment set aside for my personal 'blogging space' and this has just completely raised the bar for me in how a small space can be used to make a beautiful home office!
What do you think?

Marble Collection by Katie Leamon

Hello hello!

If you've been reading Paper Crush for a little while, you may already know that i'm a bit of a fan of Katie Leamon as i've featured their products several times over the last few months. In particular, i absolutely lovelovelove the typography cards as there's just such a range of beautiful styles and phrases for all different occasions including my favourite ever 'see you later alligator' leaving card!
As a bit of Katie Leamon groupie, i'm very excited to share with you today not only a sneaky peak feature on Katie's latest stationery collection, which is officially being launched at the Home & Gift Show in Harragote this week, but also some background and inspiration to the range from the lovely lady herself!

So, let me allow Katie to introduce you to the new Marble Collection by Katie Leamon

Katie: I decided to try marbling as I hadn't done any since school and my assistant had been to a trend seminar which was discussing tie-dye… from tie - dye I heard marbling!

Katie: I had also, for some time, wanted to bring in more colourful ranges which meant leaning on digital production more than my hand printed ranges so I wanted to ensure it still had an element that was hand created, so I got some inks and got messy!

Katie: The collection was produced in the studio with a range of primary and neon inks so once the original marbling was done, although I loved some of it, I felt it was necessary to tone the collection down to fit the brand, so that's where the more pastel palette came from, and luckily I did because its the colour more than anything that people have been going crazy for.

Katie: The gold foiling was a necessity for me, I had pictured it with a touch of gold somewhere before I had marbled my first price of paper, and I think it gives it the perfect finishing touch on the cards and makes it more practical with the greeting messages.

Katie: Really happy with how they have turned out, Home & Gift will be the UK launch, so I have my fingers crossed they go as well as they did in NY!

I'm just so in love with this range - it's got a really fun, freshness to it and it's such a unique take on the tie-dye trend that i've still not been brave enough to experiment with. Perhaps a marbled notebook is the perfect place to start...

Office Crush #4

Good morning!

Here at Paper Crush we embrace the Monday Blues by sharing with you some of our favourite inspirational office spaces.

I spotted this week's Office Crush a couple of weeks ago via Ensemble Magazine and loved the clean, beautifully organised use of a small office space. Whether you have a business you run from home or simply just need some inspiration for a little place to blog/shop/write love letters - this has some great space-saving ideas!

For me, white always adds a bit of sophistication and formality, however using a pinboard and shelving can really help make an office space more personal.

My favorutite addition to this office? Well, all those little designer shopping bags you can't bring yourself to throw away...add them to pinboards for a beautiful way to organise your papers!

Paper Crush: Andy Singleton

As someone who spends days each week exploring stationery, paper products and crafts online it's not unusual for me to find myself crushing on products and ideas or sending people little emails to tell them how amazing i think their designs are. Every now and again though, there is a special moment when you see something that just takes your breath away.
I had one of these moments a few weeks ago when i saw a paper Hummingbird (image below!) created by paper artist Andy Singleton...

It's not just the vibrant colours that drew me to this but just how stunningly realistic it looked - if i'd just glanced over it, it could easily have been a photograph. The attention to detail is amazing!

After sharing my love for his new creation, Andy kindly agreed to let me showcase some more of his work on Paper Crush, which i'm really happy to share with you today!

With such a beautiful portfolio of creations from 3D sculptures to entire installations it was incredibly hard to narrow his work down into a single blog post, so whilst i've picked out some of my personal favourites below please do check out Andy's website for a lot more - i promise you'll be amazed!

If you happen to located in West Yorkshire, Andy also runs workshops on paper cutting, folding and construction for both beginners and more experienced artists!

Confetti Collection at Kikki K

It's no secret that i absolutely love fun, colourful stationery and Kikki K has been one of my favourite discoveries of the year so far. Despite being based pretty much as far away as geographically possible from me, i love getting lost in their website and planning all my future beautified snail mail, party decorations and adding to my purchased-for-display-only notebooks!
Earlier this week i was browsing their latest collections, when i discovered a range that has got me googling customs regulations for deliveries from Australia and planning my house-warming party! So yeah, i think i've got quite the crush on their Confetti Party Collection...

I'm obsessed with confetti cupcakes at the moment so perhaps this is why i've fell head over heels for this range, but i love the bunting for a party and there's matching paper cups and paper straws which would go perfectly with some Pimms and strawberries don't you think?

Paper Crush: Louise Wright Designs

We're officially into July now and with that comes the ever-closer school holidays, which for people like me means one beautiful commute nearly halves in time (thank you!) and of course, we can't forget the World Cup finals are approaching too!

Over here at Paper Crush, the beginning of a new month also means a new monthly crush for us to share with you all over the month of July! So in case you missed our official announcement on Twitter last week, we're incredibly happy to introduce you to our featured paper crush Louise Wright Designs with a few words from the lovely lady herself!

Hi I'm Louise Wright, an illustrator and designer living in lovely Derbyshire.
I create whimsical and carefree illustrations, strongly themed around my own love of the natural world, which I then use to adorn cards, prints and other sweet home ware products. I try and create a little world of joy, and my main aim really is to make people smile with my work and if it makes me smile while doing it, even more fun! As well as working on commissions I sell my work online and locally at fairs, and am always up for natter and a cup of tea.

I originally came across Louise's designs on NOTHS however you may have seen her work without even realising as she's also stocked in some rather exciting stores such as Moonko, LOIS, John Lewis and Ginger Pickle...among many others!
I've got a soft spot for all happy illustrated sunshines, but especially ones with rosy cheeks so Louise's range immediately caught my attention. Browsing the range, you can really feel the characters of each animal coming to life across the products so today i'm going to share some of this with you, which has also been beautifully photographed by the very talented Holly Booth Photography!

We'd love to hear what your favourite illustrations are from Louise Wright's range! It's the happy sunshine for me!

Office Crush #3

Good morning!

This week's office crush comes courtesy of the super beautiful Cath Kidston.
Now perhaps it's because i've been travelling up and down the country all last week, but let's just take a second to look at that map. Amazing...!

I couldn't promise i'd get much work done with a map like that in front of my desk - i'd be too busy planning my weekend's adventures, or making cups of peppermint tea in that spotty mug and curling up on the chair with a good book. Perhaps i'd find some time to do some office filing in those beautiful storage boxes though...perhaps!
